Memorial Day Observance

Shelby County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary invite the public to their annual Memorial Day Program to be held at in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church, 211 Porter Street, Center, Texas. The program will begin at 11:00 a.m. The 192 names of Shelby County military killed in action/missing in action from the Civil War to today’s war on terror will be read. While the names are being read, the public is invited to help decorate the Memorial Wreath. The playing of Taps will close the program. Please make plans to join us. Bring your family as this is an excellent opportunity to educate our youth about the sacrifices of many.
